The Reality in Hawai'i
It's closer than you think.
Child sex trafficking doesn't happen only in dark alleys or distant cities. It happens in our schools, our neighborhoods, our hotels — and it is sustained by demand from ordinary people in our communities.
Seeing it clearly is the first step toward ending it. We SEE You gives every community member the language, tools, and courage to act.
Campaign Statement
"Exploitation thrives in silence.— We SEE You Hawai'i
We SEE You ends the silence."
The Harsh Reality
Buyers Are Among Us
The demand for commercial sex drives trafficking. Buyers are not strangers — they are members of our communities, and their choices create the market that puts children at risk.
We SEE You Hawai'i names this reality directly. Reducing demand is the most effective long-term strategy to protect children and end exploitation in our islands.
Highest Per Capita
Hawai'i ranked #1 in the nation for trafficking reports per capita by the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
Victims Know Their Trafficker
Nine out of ten victims have a prior relationship with the person who exploits them — trafficking is not random.
Runaways Are Likely Victims
Runaway youth are among the most vulnerable populations targeted by traffickers in Hawai'i and nationally.
Demand-Driven
Every instance of commercial sexual exploitation of a child exists because someone chose to buy. Ending demand ends trafficking.
Demand Reduction Campaign
Funded by Justice. Built for Hawai'i.
We SEE You Hawai'i is a federally-funded Demand Reduction Campaign (DRC) created by Ho'ōla Nā Pua under a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime. Every element of this campaign — from PSA videos to community education modules — is designed to reduce the demand that drives child sex trafficking in Hawai'i.
Demand reduction is proven to lower rates of commercial sexual exploitation when combined with public awareness, community accountability, and strong survivor-centered messaging.

Why We SEE You Matters
Taking A Stand Against Exploitation
Sex trafficking of youth is a devastating reality in Hawai'i. The We SEE You campaign addresses this crisis with compassion, courage, and a clear message designed to disrupt demand and shield children.
We educate the public, hold buyers accountable, and invite everyone — from neighbors to elected officials — to be part of the solution.
Because ending exploitation requires all of us to see it, name it, and act. Know the signs. Trust your gut.
The Impact
Community-wide change starts here.
When communities are educated, aware, and empowered to report, the demand that drives trafficking decreases — and children are safer. These numbers represent real people protected.
